Terms & conditions.
The agreement that applies when you use our site or place an order with Altara Research.
Last updated October 9, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of altararesearch.com (the "Site") and every order you place with us. "Altara Research", "we", "us" and "our" mean Altara Research LLC, which trades as Altara Research. "You" means the person using the Site or placing an order, and, where you order on behalf of an organization, that organization as well.
By using the Site, creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.
These Terms work together with our Research use policy, Privacy policy, Shipping policy and Returns & refunds policy. Each of those policies forms part of these Terms. If they conflict, these Terms control, except that our Privacy policy controls on how we handle personal information.
2. Who we are and how to reach us
Altara Research LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company. Our mailing address is 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801. It receives mail only: it is not open to visitors, and nothing should be returned there without contacting us first.
The quickest way to reach us is by email at support@altararesearch.com or through our contact form. We do not operate a telephone line. Please include your order reference when your message is about an order.
3. Who may buy from us
You may create an account or place an order only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 21 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- You are a qualified researcher, or you are buying for a research laboratory, institution or business.
- You will use the products only for laboratory research, as described in our Research use policy.
- Your shipping address is within the area we ship to, described in our Shipping policy.
- You are not barred by any law from buying or receiving the products.
- The information you give us is true, accurate and complete.
Before the Site loads, we ask you to confirm your age and your research purpose. That confirmation is stored in a cookie in your browser. At checkout we ask you to confirm it again, we check it on our server, and we store it with your order. We may ask for further information about you or your organization at any time, and we may refuse or cancel an order if we are not satisfied with the answer.
4. Research use only
For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption.
Every product we sell is a research material. Our products are not drugs, foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics or medical devices, and they are not for use in people or animals. Nothing on the Site describes, or is intended to describe, any use of a product in a person or an animal.
You agree that you will not, and will not allow anyone else to:
- use any product in or on a person or an animal, or for any clinical, medical, veterinary, cosmetic, dietary or household purpose;
- sell, give or supply any product to anyone you know or suspect will use it in a person or an animal;
- resell any product to consumers, or for any purpose other than laboratory research;
- relabel or repackage any product in a way that removes or obscures its research-use labeling;
- combine any product with equipment or solutions for preparing or administering any material to a person or animal, for supply to others.
Our Research use policy explains these rules in more detail, including what we will not do and the questions we will not answer.
5. Accounts
You need an account to place an order. You can create one at checkout or on the account page with your email address and a password. Your account holds your order history and any reward points.
You agree to keep your account details accurate, to keep your password confidential, and to tell us promptly at support@altararesearch.com if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it results from our own failure to protect it. An account is for one person, or for one organization acting through people it has authorized.
We may suspend or close an account, and cancel any open order on it, if we reasonably believe that the account holder has broken these Terms, has given us false information, is involved in fraud or payment abuse, or intends any product for use in people or animals. You may ask us to close your account at any time. Closing an account does not delete the order records we must keep, as explained in our Privacy policy.
6. Orders and acceptance
Products shown on the Site are an invitation to order, not an offer. When you place an order you make an offer to buy the products at the prices shown. The email we send after you place an order confirms that we received it. It is not an acceptance. A contract is formed when we accept your order by shipping it to you.
Before an order ships, we review it. That review can include payment authorization, your research-use confirmation, the shipping address, fraud and abuse checks, stock, the verification status of the product lot, and compliance with these Terms.
We may refuse or cancel any order, or limit the quantity of any product, for any reason the law allows. Examples include:
- we believe that a product is intended for use in a person or an animal, or for resale to consumers;
- the information on the order, the account or the payment is incomplete, inconsistent or false;
- the order, or a pattern of orders, suggests fraud, abuse or a breach of these Terms;
- a product is unavailable, or its current lot has not been verified against an independent laboratory report;
- the price or description shown was wrong;
- we cannot ship to the address given.
If we cancel an order after you have paid, we refund the full amount you paid for that order to your original payment method.
7. Cancelling an order
You can cancel an order only before it has been packed. To ask, email support@altararesearch.com or use our contact form as soon as possible, with your order reference. If the order has not been packed, we cancel it and refund the full amount to your original payment method. Once an order has been packed it cannot be canceled, and our Returns & refunds policy applies.
8. Prices, payment and taxes
All prices are in US dollars. The price that applies is the one shown at checkout when you place your order. Shipping charges are set out in our Shipping policy.
If we find that a price or description was shown in error, we may correct it before the order ships. If the correct price is higher, we will contact you and you may either confirm the order at the correct price or cancel it for a full refund. If we cannot reach you, we will cancel the order and refund you.
Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number. Your payment is also subject to the processor's own terms. Your card may be authorized when you place an order and charged when the order is accepted or shipped, depending on the processor.
We charge sales tax where the law requires it, based on the shipping address. Any tax is shown at checkout before you pay.
Discount codes have no cash value, cannot be exchanged, and may be withdrawn or limited at any time before an order is placed. Unless a code says otherwise, one code may be used per order.
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first at support@altararesearch.com. Most problems can be resolved quickly that way. We may suspend an account while a payment dispute on it is open.
9. Product information and catalog codes
Product pages describe what a material is, how it is made, how it is supplied and how it is characterized. Reference data such as the CAS number, molecular formula and molecular weight describes the compound in general, from published reference sources. It is not a statement about a particular lot. The laboratory report for the lot is the only document that describes the material you receive.
Some products are listed under a catalog code, such as ALT-3RT, rather than a compound name. A catalog code identifies a product in our catalog. It does not change what the product is, and each product page still shows the CAS number, formula and molecular weight.
Product images are illustrations. The vial and label you receive may look different.
10. Lot verification and laboratory reports
A product strength can be ordered only once its current lot has been checked against an independent laboratory report. We publish the reports on product pages and on our testing page, each with instructions for checking it directly with the laboratory that issued it.
Two independent laboratories are involved. Freedom Diagnostics, in the United States, provides lot verification reports. Janoshik, in the Czech Republic, provides reference reports. Each report on the Site says which kind it is.
Results are copied exactly from the laboratory report. We do not round, edit or restate them. The reports remain the work of the laboratories that issued them.
If the lot shipped on your order differs from the lot shown on the product page when you ordered, the report for the lot actually shipped applies, and we will provide it on request.
11. Shipping, title and risk of loss
We ship only within the continental United States, as described in our Shipping policy. Any processing or delivery date we show is an estimate, not a guarantee.
Title to the products, and the risk of loss or damage, pass to you when we deliver the order to the carrier. That does not affect the help we give with damaged, missing or lost orders under our Returns & refunds policy.
12. Returns and refunds
Our products are custom-labeled research materials and are final sale. We do not accept returns for a change of mind, or returns of opened or used products. We will put things right if an order arrives damaged, contains the wrong item or is missing items, provided you report it within 3 business days of delivery. The full process, including lost packages, is in our Returns & refunds policy.
13. Rewards
We may offer a rewards program to customers with an account. While it runs, these rules apply:
- You earn 1 point for each whole dollar spent on products. Points are added when the order is delivered.
- Points are not earned on shipping charges, taxes, or the part of an order paid with points.
- 100 points can be redeemed for $10 off a later order.
- Wholesale accounts do not earn or redeem points.
- Points have no cash value. They cannot be sold, transferred, exchanged for cash or combined between accounts.
- If an order is refunded or canceled, in whole or in part, we remove the points earned on it. If an order paid partly with points is canceled, we return those points to your account.
- We may remove points obtained through error, fraud, abuse or a breach of these Terms. Points are forfeited if we close an account for a breach of these Terms.
- We may change, suspend or end the program, or change how points are earned or redeemed, by updating these Terms. Where we can, we will give notice on the Site before a change reduces the value of points already earned.
14. Wholesale accounts
Wholesale accounts are available by application on our wholesale page, and only to research laboratories, academic and research institutions, contract research organizations, biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and development teams, and research-supply businesses.
We do not open wholesale accounts for clinics, medical or wellness practices, medical spas, pharmacies, compounding facilities, telehealth services or individual practitioners, or for anyone who supplies material for use in people or animals.
We review each application and may approve or decline it at our discretion. We may ask for documents that confirm your organization and its research activity. Pricing for an approved account is set for that account after approval and may be reviewed from time to time. We may suspend or close a wholesale account at any time if it no longer meets these requirements.
A research-supply business that resells our products must sell them only for laboratory research use, keep their research-use labeling intact, apply restrictions at least as strict as these Terms to its own customers, and tell us promptly if it learns of any use in people or animals.
15. Your responsibilities and compliance with laws
You are solely responsible for how you handle, store, use and dispose of the products, and for complying with every law, regulation and institutional rule that applies to you. That includes the rules of your state and locality on buying, possessing, importing and using research materials, and any approvals your institution requires.
You agree that the products will be handled only by people with appropriate training, in a suitable laboratory setting, following your organization's safety procedures. We do not represent that any product may lawfully be bought, possessed or used in your location. You agree not to export any product outside the United States.
16. Warranties and disclaimers
We warrant that, at the time of testing, the product you receive conforms to the purity and content stated in the independent laboratory report for its lot. If it does not, your remedy is a replacement or a refund of the price you paid for that product, at our choice. That is the only warranty we give.
To the fullest extent the law allows, the products and the Site are otherwise provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We make no warranty about the results of any research, about the condition of a product after it has been delivered and stored by you, or that a product is suitable for any particular experiment.
Some states do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. In those states, the exclusions above apply only to the extent the law permits.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or the cost or outcome of any research, arising out of these Terms, the Site or any product, even if we were told such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies, including liability for fraud.
18. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Altara Research and its members, managers, employees and service providers against any claim, loss, liability, penalty or expense, including reasonable legal fees, that arises from: your use or misuse of any product, including any use in a person or an animal; your resale or supply of any product; your breach of these Terms; or your breach of any law or the rights of any other person.
19. Use of the Site and intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, images, designs, product descriptions, catalog codes and our name and marks, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a limited, revocable permission to view the Site and use it to buy from us. No other right is granted.
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape or republish Site content for a commercial purpose without our written permission;
- bypass or interfere with the age and research confirmation, the checkout checks, or any security feature of the Site;
- place orders or create accounts using automated means, false information or another person's details;
- probe, overload or disrupt the Site or the systems behind it;
- use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content.
20. Emails and text messages
We send transactional emails about your account and orders, such as order confirmations and shipping notices. These are part of the service.
We send marketing email only if you opt in, at signup or at checkout. Every marketing email includes a link to unsubscribe, and we honor unsubscribe requests promptly.
We send marketing text messages only if you give separate consent at checkout. By giving it, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages from Altara Research at the number you provide. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. More detail is in our Privacy policy.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and that date is the version identifier for these Terms.
At checkout you must tick an unticked box to agree to the Terms before you can place an order. We record the version you agreed to and the time on our server when you agreed, and store them with your order. The version you agreed to governs that order. Changes apply only to orders placed after the change takes effect.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This choice does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the state where you live.
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at support@altararesearch.com, with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do. We will try in good faith to resolve it with you informally within 30 days before either of us starts formal proceedings.
23. General
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted, and the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, with the policies they refer to, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site and your orders, and replace any earlier understanding. For an approved wholesale account, any separate written wholesale agreement we sign with you also applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours to a successor business.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier delays, severe weather, supply interruptions and outages of service providers.
- Notices. We may give you notice by email to the address on your account or by posting on the Site. You may give us notice by email to support@altararesearch.com.

Assumptions in this draft
Each of these was chosen so the policy reads as a whole, not because the business confirmed it. Every one needs checking before launch.
- The mailing address is the company's registered agent address (confirmed by the client, 9 Oct 2026). It receives mail only, so the Terms tell customers not to send anything there without contacting us first.
- The domain altararesearch.com is assumed and not yet confirmed. The email address support@altararesearch.com is confirmed.
- Wyoming law is assumed as governing law, with no venue or forum clause.
- No arbitration clause or class action waiver is included. Counsel should decide whether to add either.
- A 30-day informal resolution period before formal proceedings is assumed.
- A contract is assumed to form when the order ships, not when it is placed or confirmed.
- Title and risk of loss are assumed to pass to the buyer on delivery to the carrier.
- The only warranty given is conformity to the lot's independent laboratory report, with replacement or refund as the remedy. Counsel should confirm this is enforceable in the states we ship to.
- Liability is capped at the amount paid for the order giving rise to the claim.
- The payment processor has not been chosen. The timing of authorization and capture depends on it.
- The rewards program is proposed and not yet confirmed by the client. Point reversal, forfeiture and change rules are standard protections drafted for review.
- The Terms version identifier is the last-updated date. The checkout must record that date with the server time of acceptance.
- It is assumed we can identify the lot actually shipped on each order. That record is not yet captured anywhere.
- Sales tax collection obligations by state have not been determined. The Terms say only that tax is charged where required.
- A separate written wholesale agreement may or may not be used. The Terms allow for one.
